To celebrate our 35th year some NQ members exhibited their quilts at our Exhibition held at the Diamond Centre. This is a new venue for us with good light which shows off the exhibits to great advantage. There was a varied selection of techniques and sizes, each one unique in its finish and interpretation of colour and design.

It was lovely to see exhibits from two of our Young Quilters. Visitors viewed their quilts with admiration and there were many photographs taken of them. Well done Grace and Holly – let us see more from you!

Much interest was shown in the display of items created by the Young Quilters, organised by Norfolk Quilters. The sales table, loaded with a variety of items made by members, was very busy both days raising much needed funds to help with the continued running of NQ.

Quite a crowd was waiting for the Quilt Raffle to be drawn, all hoping to be taking home the quilt the Young Quilters had made but this was not to be so. The winner, Muriel Kidd, was not in the Centre but other prizes were presented amongst us with some to be delivered or collected at a later date.

Added advantages to this venue were the large free parking area and the refreshment facilities. We are grateful to members of Sprowston W.I. who served tea/coffee and a delicious variety of cakes giving us a chance to sit away from the quilts and chat with friends.

Almost 200 people came to view our quilts and many lovely comments were written in the Visitors Book about the display. If you were not able to attend there are photos of all quilts exhibited for you to see on our website.

Finally, I would like to thank the “Quilt Exhibition Committee” for all their work which made this event one of the best that NQ have put on throughout the years. Without them there would have been no Exhibition!
